For large gatherings when a variety of grilled and barbequed food is required, the Outback Meteor 6 Burner Gas BBQ is a great choice.
The six stainless steel burners with individual control give superb cooking results over the two surfaces – one side features a large cast iron standard grill while the other has a cast iron grill with the integrated Multi Cook plate system, making this a truly versatile barbeque.
On the top of the six main burners, the Meteor has a side burner which can be used for cooking sauces or frying in a pan or for searing steaks and other meats for a perfect restaurant finish.
The roasting hood Is double lined for keep control over oven temperatures; inside it has a large warming rack to keep food nicely warmed when cooked, or alternatively it can be used to cook meats and vegetables slowly with the hood down.
Meteor with Multi-Cook BBQ System
This system allows you to cook like never before on a BBQ grill, thanks to the three interchangeable/reversable Multi-Cook plates:
The griddle plate circle offers you a full-width griddle across the BBQ. It's the classic barbecue surface, allowing you to grill all your favourites such as meat and poultry, along with a range of vegetables and sides, with ease.
Give your steaks, burgers and vegetables the perfect grill finish with the circular grill plate. The PE coated cast iron is tough and durable giving you a long-lasting, non-stick and easy to clean for all of your grilling needs.
The flat plate (reverse of the Griddle plate) is a great addition to the Multi Cook system. It allows you to use the plate to grill as well as an effective sizzle plate. You can also use pans or woks for total versatility in your BBQ cooking options - No need to revert to the kitchen stove.
A truly unique accessory for your gas BBQ, the pizza stone allows you to cook full 12" pizzas, and dough-based products, straight from your barbecue! It's Ideal for large garden parties where a variety of food choices may be needed.
Features and Benefits
Hybrid charcoal and gas cooking system
This BBQ uses charcoal baskets with Hybrid briquettes which gives all the great taste of charcoal cooking but the convenience of lighting it with gas. To light, turn the burners on high for around 15 minutes until the briquettes start to the ashen grey turn off the burners and the briquettes will continue to burn (much like charcoal). The briquettes will continue to burn without the burners lit so you can cook on the gas BBQ like you would on a charcoal BBQ!
How to insert your hybrid cooking system:
- Remove the grill plates and centre piece.
- Remove the flame tamers from the gas burners.
- Insert the hybrid cooking charcoal basket covering half of the burners.
- Fill the basket with the desired charcoal.
- Replace the grill plates and centre piece and ignite your charcoal with the gas burners.
- Multiple burners – The six burners with griddle and grill, together with side searer and hood give endless cooking possibilities.
- Multi-cook system – Cook all kinds of different foods thanks to the four cooking plates you can switch between for BBQ perfection.
